Modern technologies aid wide ranging solutions not only to foster sustainable development of economies but also to ensure inclusive economic development which is both socially consistent and ecologically sound. The Agenda for the future is clear for all of us to follow.

The State of Gujarat has witnessed unprecedented upsurge in investments & economic growth for almost a decade & that too right through the recent global economic crises as well.

There are over 400 IIT Alumni working in Gujarat currently, spanning contributions in Government, Public Sector undertaking, Education & Academia, Research Institutions, Private companies, Entrepreneurs & in social development services. The Alumni is spread across the major cities of Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda, Gandhinagar, Ankleshwar & Rajkot.

The Government of Gujarat in keeping with global trends wants the focus to shift to becoming an innovative society of the 21st century and has partnered with the IIT alumni to help prepare an appropriate agenda for development for the state in this regard. While there are several successes to be seen in many fields of governance in the State, there is a thirst to learn more and more from various experiences from across the globe.

Good quality higher education is crucial for creating young minds that can contribute to innovative ideas which are socially relevant and globally competitive. Our IIT alumni at large is engaged in assisting with global tie ups in academic and research of various leading centers of higher learning abroad with those in Gujarat, as part of the government’s and privates university’s drive.

This IIT Conclave with a theme "Technology & Development" will therefore present and discuss these and other relevant issues with experts from abroad. The event will bring together renowned thought leaders, industrialists, & eminent IIT alumni for this purpose.
